Developed in the 1970s by Xerox PARC's Learning Research Group, Smalltalk pioneered overlapping windows, pop-up menus, and paned browsers, all controlled by a mouse. Smalltalk was also one of the earliest object-oriented programming languages, whose graphical interface inspired Steve Jobs and influenced the Lisa and Macintosh computers. 🖥 In this demonstration, recorded in 2017 on a Xerox Alto, Dan Ingalls, Smalltalk’s lead programmer, recreates the famous demos of Smalltalk that were given to
