It takes a village to harvest a corn crop: my brothers run the combine in shifts and fix it when it breaks down, Mom and I help where we can, running trucks back and forth to the fields, following the combine with the grain cart, unloading our trucks and then loading trucks to go to the local mills, and then we all pitch in to take what’s left to the mills, bushhog corn stalks, and plant the cover crop.
