Insecure attachment can get handed down by doing the exact same thing as our parents (the copy and paste method) Or by trying to do the opposite as them without first dealing with the pain and insecurity that our experiences cultivated inside of us (the no paste method) If we have not yet learned how to love and trust ourselves it makes it much harder for secure experiences to stick for our children.
