HANDCUFFS | Handcuffs are crucial when police officers make arrests. Knowing how to properly use them is a learned skill. Part of #LPD's hands-on defensive tactics (DT) training includes practicing how to properly handcuff someone step by step. Recruits learn how to approach a suspect, what verbal commands to give so their body is in the proper position and, ultimately, how to get the handcuffs on quickly and successfully every time.
