Bonobos may be cute, but they are not pets! All bonobos you see with humans on our page are with trained caregivers who are essential to their survival. The bonobos of Lola ya Bonobo Sanctuary are sadly victims of the wildlife trade. Through the rehabilitation process at Lola, these bonobos have the opportunity to be released back into the wild one day, after they gain the skills, confidence, and socialization at the sanctuary.
