The “Water Dance”: American alligators in our Native Bird Rookery & Swamp started bellowing while we were trying to clean the boardwalk after the Hurricane. The Rookery is home to over a hundred alligators, one American crocodile, and lots of native birds that migrate through, roost for the night, and raise their young during the spring. Flocks of photographers can also be found here during the spring nesting season. The alligators bellow as form of communication to each other over long distance
