NOT ALL DRY STANDPIPES ARE EMPTY Standpipe outlet in a parking garage adjoining a building. Like a dry sprinkler system this standpipe system is kept dry with air pressure holding the water back. Once the outlet is opened, air evacuates and the valve opens, charging the system. It takes a full minute for the air to evacuate to this 10th floor and the sound is deafening. If you did not know these systems are out there, you need to get out there! THE REAL WORLD REPRESENTS THE REAL WORLD- YOUR TRAI
