Last week we asked you to guess what this was… 🔎 Here we see the Experimental Linac for Surface Analysis (ELISA), a compact proton accelerator built for exhibition in #CERNScienceGateway – the only one that is ready for demonstrations to the public. ELISA is capable of performing a real Proton Induced X-ray Emission (PIXE) analysis, used in real-life to authenticate artworks, among other uses.
