What Is Backflow Testing In Plumbing

Los Angeles County Public Works is requiring us to install a new backflow preventer 10 feet away from the city water meter at the street …even though we have one already on the property which is 80 feet away. We are taking the next steps . We are working with mechanical engineer from LA Public Works along with a certified plumber to meet these specifications , in order to get the water meter reinstalled and water restored to the property to water our precious trees .Until then I am grateful for
