August 26th - on this day in 1998, the first The Boeing Company Delta III 8930 rocket launched from Space Launch Complex 17A at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida. Depsite being an inaugural flight, the rocket carried a customer payload, the Galaxy 10 communications satellite. Within the first minute of flight, a slow oscillating roll developed, which the rocket's control system tried to correct. However, it instead contributed to the situation and in the end expended the hydraulic flui
