Our video reveal today is the seconda pars of the motet ‘Emendemus in melius’ by Portuguese composer and theorist Vicente Lusitano. We don’t know much about his life; we don’t even know his last name! “Lusitano” just means Portuguese. What scant biographical info we have suggests he was described as ‘mestizo’ in Spanish-language documents, meaning mixed.
