Food Loss and Waste is a major problem in Australia, causing significant environmental and economic impacts, and costing our economy around $36.6 billion a year. Unused food amounts to approx. 7.6 million tonnes of food across the supply chain, which equates to roughly 312kg of food thrown away, per person, per year. The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry made a commitment in 2017 to cut per capita food waste by half across the whole supply chain. At FRDC, we are committed to help
