Tip of the Week // Stretch New Leader and Line to avoid the coiled memory. Opening a new leader? Start from the thick butt section, not the thin tippet end. Unravel it slowly to avoid knots and tangles. Then—stretch it out. A firm pull from end to end takes the memory out and helps it lay out smoothly on the water. Do the same with new fly line!
