After the success of Bye Bye Love and Wake Up Little Susie, the Everlys went to Boudleaux and Felice Bryant for yet another hit. In a daring move, they strayed away from the hit-making formula that had given them so much success previously and decided on a ballad to show off the brothers' harmony.
