A little before and after! This chimney had significant deterioration—from failing mortar joints and cracked bricks caused by a damaged chimney crown, to stepped brick (corbeling) on the shoulders that held water and encouraged organic growth. There was also no protective barrier to stop water from getting behind the chimney, so we installed new flashing, a vapor barrier, and counter flashing above the roofline.
