When we go into backbends, it’s not just the spine doing the work. If the hip flexors and the front body are tight, the lower back ends up taking all the pressure. By opening up the hip flexors and the front of the spine, we create space for the pelvis to move freely, the chest to lift, and the spine to lengthen evenly.
