Today, CBP commemorated the construction of nearly 400 miles of new border wall system. CBP has completed construction of more than 200 miles of new border wall system in high priority locations across the Southwest border. The border wall system denies, deters and impedes the unlawful entry of people and contraband into the United States. It is more than a physical barrier—the border wall system consists of patrol roads, lighting, and technology which allow Border Patrol agents to quickly detect and respond to illicit activity.
